Created to inspire new work and offer a glimpse into the diversity of Chicago’s contemporary art community, TEN by TEN gives participating artists the freedom to explore their own ideas, subjects, and artistic approaches. The exhibition’s primary constraints are size and presentation: each work must fit within the ten-by-ten format and be able to hang from the wall on a wire.

The result is a dynamic and varied exhibition that brings together artists working across different styles, perspectives, and mediums. For collectors and art enthusiasts, TEN by TEN offers an opportunity to experience a small-scale sampling of the many creative voices contributing to Chicago’s vibrant arts scene.

With artists bringing their individual perspectives to the same format, TEN by TEN celebrates both the diversity of contemporary art and the creative possibilities that can emerge from a shared set of parameters.
